Friends of St Ann's Manor was formed in January 1997 when Region moved its Office from Ladywell in the Cathedral Close to St Ann's Manor.
The Friends have helped to realise the dream of re-structuring the upper floor and staircase of St Ann's Manor. A clock for the new Harden training room on the top floor and a fire for the sitting room on the ground floor were purchased. Recently we have helped with the expenditure of purchasing new tables for the Committee Room.
Seventeen Friends have recently had a trip to the Isle of Wight where we enjoyed a nostalgic trip on the Havenstreet Steam Railway. There we were welcomed by one of the volunteers and coffee and tea were served before we ventured on our hour long journey in a reserved carriage with our organisation posted in the windows. Some of our members enjoyed the museum before setting off to see more of the island before returning home.
Friends usually meet twice a year with the Annual General Meeting being held at St Ann's Manor. The Autumn social gathering is held in one of our Counties/Islands.
